Palpitations can have many causes such as too much caffiene, stress, anxiety. It is feeling an irregulat heartbeat. Arrhythmia is a malfunction of the hearts electrical activity and can also cause palpitations.

An arrhythmia ia simple a change in the regular heart beat. It can have many different causes, including heart disease. Palpatation are when one feel the heart pounding. It san be cause by stress, caffiene, valvular disease and many other things. If these palpatations cas dizziness or nausea or shortness of breath, or if they happen ofter, they should ne evaluated by a Dr. A portable monitor may be needed to cath these and find out if they are benign of from something more serious.

An Arrhythmia is when the heart beat gets all funky- beats all over the place, not consistant.
Palpatations is when the heart speeds and the beat gets faster but consistant. Very definitive pounding action!

Palpitations are a subjective sense that a patient will tell you he/she is feeling. It may or may not be as a result of an arrhythmia.

An arrhythmia is a documented irregular rhythm. It is an objective finding.

C shum is right. Many older people have innocent arytmia's. Palpitations in women is often elated to a lack of progesterone and or a lack of iodine/ malfunctioning of the thyroid . See source for more info.

Palpatations you usually feel like your chest is pounding, arrythmyia, you just get dizzy and feel like your going to pass out or actually pass out
