Yes, there are vegetarian sushi options. Tamago is an egg sushi. Cucumber, sprouts, tofu, pickled vegetables and mushrooms are used in sushi rolls.

Here are some articles & recipes:

Of course, as many have said.

Most all sushi is vegetarian.
The only 'authentic' sushi that isn't used fish.
All the rest are vegan actually.
But these days people are shoving allsorts of stuff in there including mayo.
The crab sushi is usually fake crab made from fish too.
Sashimi is the stuff that is basically a hunk of raw fish.

My favourite is inari sushi. considered a lower-class sushi and not found at the more expensive sushi places, but they are upper class snobs and it tastes great. The only thing is, that Japanese people are really into MSG (a Japanese invention) and I like to avioid that stuff. They put it in everything, especially in soups, and soup stocks, snacks, etc. they even use it from a salt shaker at home -- pretty sickening.

Yes, and it is sooo good. My favorite sushi restaurant has a variety of vegetarian rolls--sweet potato tempura, oshinko, mushroom, and many vegetable combinations. Even the simplest sushi restaurants will have cucumber rolls and avocado rolls, though you may have to request them from your server, because they may not be on the menu. Whenever I go to a new sushi restaurant, I just ask the server to list all of the vegetarian rolls for me; there are always at least a few, and they are delish!

Where I live, they have vegetable rolls made with brown rice, seaweed, avocado and cucumber...so yes...they do. Keep in mind that sushi refers to the rice, not the fish.

Yeah! :) You can even make vegan sushi if you don't want any animal products at all. You just used mashed chickpeas (like hommus) instead of the meat, and then whatever vegetables you want.

of course! Its just using regular nori rolls and rice sushi ingredients and using stuff like cucumbers, mangos, mushrooms, tempeh (which is smoked tofu), avocados, japanese pickles, carrot and other veggies instead of fish.

Yes, there are many options that contain cucumber, carrot, and avacado. I make it homemade all the time. Yummy

They are usually called California rolls here in the States.

Crab isn't ALWAYS present in California rolls. They are less likely to have seafood in them than regular sushi!
