Both sites take the mick out of the dishes somewhat, but you may find something you can adapt to be edible.

Think fondue, chex mix, pigs in a blanket, pimento and cheese sandwiches, or serve old fashioned tv dinners...they were the height of the "in-fashion" in the late 60's. For dessert, vanilla icecream with the green cream de minthe is an absolute! Wow this remembering my childhood sneaking down to my parents parties.....ah, memories! Have a great party!

Get as many kitchy glasses with those awful plastic decal decorations as you can get. not to mention Corelle, Corningware and the like.
With regards to food, I'd do fondue, meatloaf, pot roast, mashed spuds(made with instant flakes) with green peas.
Tons if dishes with BEEF. it was all about the red meat from what I've been told.
Try to channel Julia Childs with Beef Bourguignon - Beef Olives - Beef Stroganoff - Chicken Kiev - Chicken Maryland - Chilli Con Carne - Crepes Suzette - Duck a La Orange.
Jell-O molds. Chef-Boy-R-Dee. Buffalo wings and Pop-Tarts.
Swanson TV dinners (maybe that was the 50s?).
Plenty of Tang and Kool-Aid and Gatorade.
Make Go-go boot cookies as favors or Hand out Wham-O Frizbees. Enjoy

Pick up any Betty Crocker cookbook; the late 60s were a time of sort of retro food.

Swedish Meatballs
Scallops wrapped in bacon
Those little cocktail weiners
Meatloaf
Stew

There wasn't a lot of vegetarian support back then.

You could make cheese fondue
Brussel sprouts (don't know if anyone will eat them though)
"Vegetable medley"
Creamed corn

It really wasn't the high point of American cuisine, I'll tell you that.

I know I'm not a very good cook but even I haven't come up with a dinner that's fit to knock someone off! Have a fun evening. I think those packets of Rissotto were out then and SPAM ...oh my God Spam and Luncheon meat....yuk and of course Cadburys Smash

Food was very plain back then, freeze dried veg were big! Ugh!
A good roast of beef or lamb, mushy peas, plain veg (no imported fancy stuff) roast potatoes, yorkshire pudding and Bisto gravy, not a fancy gravy, there wasn't any then. Typical dessert was trifle, ice cream, 'instant whip' by Birds or milk puddings! Soup was a regular starter or egg mayonnaise. Hope this helps, that's what I remember.

This is experience speaking! Start with prawn cocktails (avocado with prawns didn't arrive until the early 70s), and desert is black forest gateau. Just a couple of the food icons of 40 years ago...

Ha ha! Shrimp mould! My grandma used to make this for my uncles and their friends. LOTS of mayo and gelatin. As a vegetarian, this has always creeped me out. Ewww!

But really, for vegetarian 60's fare you're pretty much sol. (My mom survived those years on carrots and cheese balls.)

I always thought of meatloaf as being old fashioned. I can't help with vegetarian ideas.
