I think it's a great thing since HPV is very common

The vaccine for 99.999% of the population will be a great benefit. For the 1 in 10,000 to 1,000,000 the vaccine could lead to death for that person. Why will it kill that one person? Because of evolutionary processes, one person in 10,000 have different genetic makeup which saves or kills them from different illnesses. Because of genetics, 1 in 10,000 people affected with AIDS will have no symptoms. Or the 1 person that is still in pain at the dentist's office because the numbing drug novicane will have no effect.
So to mandate the vaccine, the government official is taking responsibility for the 1 death in 10,000 to 1,000,000 in order to save of thousands of lives of people who will not voluntarily take that vaccine, and the official has to ask the question, Is it worth the price? Personally HPV is not in the same category as small pox, diptheria, or measles, very public deceases caught by anyone. HPV's main transmission is by intercourse which is a personal choice.

I think it's great that researchers have found a way to prevent HPV which is the leading cause of cervical cancer. How long have we as parents been giving our babies the Hepatitis B vaccine? We don't want to picture our little ones as sexually active or sharing needles, but we need to protect them. I don't want to think about my own daughter being sexually active as a pre-teen or teen, but the reality is most of them are. I also don't want her to undergo painful cervical biopsies like I did. We need to protect them from HPV; millions already have it, and you can contract without even having intercourse. Even if it is required by law, there will be parents who don't immunize now who will refuse it. I only hope that it is made widely available as soon as possible.

I agree with tigger, the govt. shouldn't mandate it. You also have to look at the fact that we really don't know the long term effects either. It's scary to think about, but how many times have you heard of some meds being recalled because it started killing people. Look at Hormone therapy, it gave my grandmother breast cancer, and the birth control patches, and so on. And don't be fooled by the in rare cases it can cause so and so etc., If this vaccine is used in wide number, those rare cases get bigger. Just something to think about.

Even though there is a stigma related to it being caused by an STD, I think anything that can prevent cancer is worth doing. Many times HPV will remain latent in the body and can be spread for years before anyone ever knows they have it.

It's good that the vaccine is available. But Uncle Sam is way overstepping what's his business there!

Make it more like the flu vaccine, something people can get if they want it. But don't require it!

there became some thing performed to attempt if it did, the guy said the outcomes that they do reason it, notwithstanding it became faked, the guy himself admitted that he became paid to grant the pretend effects. Vaccines do no longer reason Autism.

THIS IS A VERY GOOD QUESTION.
DO WE AS A SOCIETY HELP TO PREVENT THE POTENTIAL DEVELOPMENT OF CERVICAL CANCER WITH A SIMPLE VACCINE OR DO RISK THE POTENTIAL DEVELOPMENT OF CANCER IN OUR DAUGHTERS, WIVES, AND GIRLFRIENDS?

IT WOULD BE IDEAL IF OUR KIDS DIDN'T GET HEP-B FROM SEX, BUT GET REAL!!! SOME KIDS DO HAVE SEX AND GET HEP-B. SO, WE VACCINATE THEM, AND RIGHTLY SO.

IN REGARDS TO PERSONAL PRIVACY.... THIS IS FINE AND GOOD, BUT WHERE HEALTH IS CONCERNED WE, AS PARENTS, MUST HAVE OUR KIDS' HEALTH AT THE FOREFRONT, NOT THEIR "PRIVACY."

good that it's there but to FORCE it on people is completely wrong. The government needs to back off and the people need to wake up and stop letting the gov. tell them how to live their life.
