Yes, exercise and eat a diet high in protein, low in salt and fats. Salt in small amounts is ok, but even small amounts can raise blood pressure. Get a check up. You may have other issues causing your high blood pressure.

Yoga and pranayama will help you. But one should find out the reason for the BP first. It can be due to pathological or psychological reasons. You can take one rudved ayurvedic capsule daily as a preventive. Or drink Noni herbal fruit juice twice a day in water.

Hello:
High Blood Pressure a.k.a. Hypertension can be controlled in various ways with advice from your own doctor since everyone is different when it comes to their hypertension needs! I would check with your doctor first, and follow his or her advice as to if they want you to follow a diet, lose weight, take medication,etc...
High Blood Pressure can be controlled by doing the following things:
If your doctor prescribes high blood pressure medication for you, make sure that you take your medication EXACTLY AS PRESCRIBED BY YOUR DOCTOR!! The only reason I say that is because some people stop taking their medication once they start feeling better, and you should contact your doctor's office and meet with your doctor before going off of any high blood pressure medication! If you are taking any high blood pressure medication and you have severe side effects,or if you start to feel really ill, than be sure to contact your doctor's office IMMEDIATELY,so they can advise you on what course of action that they want you to take next!
Diet is CRUCIAL when it comes to controlling high blood pressure and one of the culprits in food is salt! Salt is hidden in MANY FOODS that people aren't even aware of,so please READ FOOD LABELS VERY CAREFULLY!! There is a diet called the DASH Diet, but ALWAYS TALK WITH YOUR DOCTOR BEFORE STARTING ANY DIET!! The DASH Diet is for people with hypertension and it helps to either limit,or eliminate alot of salty foods in your diet, therefore providing you with different and more healty food options!
Alot of foods such as bologna, bacon, dill pickles, canned soups, frozen dinners, french fries, pizza, etc are just loaded with alot of salt!
If you are overweight,it is a good idea to talk with your doctor about starting a healthy diet plan,as well as exercise plan, and an overall lifestyle change, since being overweight puts alot of strain on your heart, and can cause serious health complications!
Last but not least,BE HONEST with your doctor and tell him or her ALL OF THE MEDICATIONS that you are currently taking because even over the counter medications,or certain vitamins or vitamin supplements can affect the way that your body absorbs your high blood pressure medication! Also, make sure to talk with your doctor or pharmacist about consuming grapefruit juice when you are on high blood pressure medicine, because again it could affect your health!! I hope this has been helpful and good luck to you!! ;-)

Depends on it's cause. Changing diet, doing relaxation techniques, or petting a cat or dog will all reduce blood pressure.
