dying from emphysema is a really bad way to go. They want someone there when they breath there last.

every smoker should have to be there for the end of copd'ers life and see why smoking should be stopped.

Been a nurse for more than 25 years. Have been with many dying patients. Seeing a patient with end stage COPD is pretty bad. Sedation to ease the breathing, reduce the anxiety which most of them face. Tell the patient when you will be back (in a case like mine when you had many other patients to attend to) and then BE back at the exact time or a minute or two early. Offer comfort, fluids, and small frequent feedings as they tend to tire early. Of course some type of religious support if they

my mother is a copd patient and i can tell you that is not an easy thing to deal with it can be serious if your not careful.....

i`m a C.O.P.D. sufferer and have carers in 3 times a day and night care
gets to the stage where you become pretty much incapacitated !
