I have amoxicillin for when I had strep throat, but now I have that white discharge from my 'little' friend... Would it be okay to take Amoxicillin, 'cause the clinics around here, the ones I keep calling, all don't pick up... Also, I need to go to a FREE ANONYMOUS clinic in Orlando, Florida (I am a teenager, 18). I can't have them bill my insurance, 'cause otherwise my father will see it. They don't know I'm sexually active.

No, especially if you´re not sure if you have an STD or what type it is. If that white discharge is a yeast infection amoxicillin will make it worse. If it´s your normal discharge you shouldn´t be taking antibiotics either because it will disturb your vaginal ecosystem and more than likely cause a yeast infection if you don´t already have one. Abusing antibiotics makes bacteria immune to them and decreases their effectiveness.

No it is not ok to take antibiotics when you don't know what you have. You need to be seen by a doc and get tested. Why are you calling and not just using a walk in clinic or just dropping by. Also how do you know what you have is an STD or even caused by sex? I would see my regular doc and just get treated. Just becuase you have an infection doesn't mean you are sexaully active.

You can't take amoxicillin unless you know what is causing it. Amoxicilin is used to treat upper repiratory infections, and not infections down there.

It could be a yeast infection, bacterial vaginosis or an STD. You need to get to a clinic and get checked out.

no, because not all bacteria are susceptible to amoxicillin. They need to figure out what you have and what it is susceptible to in order to treat it with antibiotics.
You know, if you think you are mature enough to have sex, you should be mature enough to discuss it with your father. Grow up

Yes you can take Amoxicillin, but it is given in high intial dose like 2.5grams in combination with other 3 drugs. I dont think it will work in small doses, but please see a doctor
