I think it can be because they are more weight conscientious, but many girls are also more into doing research on how to live everyday life than guys. I got into in when trying to figure out what best to feed my daughter after she was born. My husband could have cared less. He does much more research on things that interest him, like video games and cars. I could care less about those things, whereas I was just more interested in parenting issues. The only other veg I know also came to it through similar methods.

Did you mean to ask why most vegetarians are girls rather than guys?
Well, I think that in America, men have this 'cowboy machismo' complex that prevents them from even considering being a vegetarian. I think that men will feel like less of a man if they don't eat meat. Society feels that way. I'm sure their meat-eating friends would feel that way too. It's sad but true.

Girls are typically more concious about health and beauty issues, and often make an informed choice to go veggies. Guys are usually more stubborn and slow to wrap their brains around a concept that seams extreme. Its been that way since the dawn of time, and not likely to change any time soon

OMFG STOP WITH THE STEREOTYPES. it has nothing to do with gender. i dont eat meat because i love animals and no im not gay or anythin. i just hate that an animal would have to die for something we dont even need at all. just for the record im the only vegetarian at my school (like 400 kids) so that means no girls too.

Guys seem to take the I'll eat whatever you put in front of me stance on things. I think that they think by not eating meat that they're not as masculine as the other guys. I wish there were more veggie guys out there.

and they dont care how repulsive mea and dairy really are
men are gross
i read my husband all the same **** i was reading about why meat and dairy are fuking disgusting
he listened intently
nodded along
and then goes and eats meat anyway
and also they think they are somehow giving themselves something so desirable, like its an indulgence to them or something
the bloodier your meat, the better it is...

To tell you the truth, among my friends there are more male vegetarian or vegans. I doubt this has anything to do with gender.

They don't want to eat meat. Plus veggies are so much good for you along with weight concern Men aren't into that

Some girls are concerned about their weight, and don't want to eat an animal because it's killing them,( which eating them is one of the reasons they're here.) And "guys" aren't (as much anyways) concerned about their weight. Plus if a guy is a vegetarian, I'm sorry but I would think he's gay.
