I have fainted twice in two weeks, so I went to the docters. They gave me an EKG test. It came out negative. But they think there is something else in my heart. So they drew my blood to check to see if I have low blood sugar, etc. So by friday I will get the results from the blood thing, and to see when I get the ultrasound

I am only 14 (one month till I am 15) and I dont know what to do.
I can't run for three weeks (Since I fainted when I was running), and If I faint again, they won't let me run ever again this year.

What to do?

It really becomes very simple. Do you want to live a long normal life? If so follow their advise. They don't make any extra money by having you die. They want to keep you alive. How about you?

Ok now this is going to sound weird. But my very best friend faints, all the time. She has the smallest amount of pain and she's on the floor. She get's mad and she's on the floor. She get's scaried, she is on the floor. Her mom gets upset when they call from school to say she's fainted. She tells them give a wash cloth she's fine.

So it could be something like this. I found the stuff below on the web.

One of the most common and least worrisome reasons for fainting is anxiety or other emotional upset. The anxiety causes fast breathing (hyperventilation), which alters your body chemistry enough to cause you to faint.

You may faint if you have not had enough liquids, especially if you stand up too quickly. This happens more often after illness or working in the hot sun. But it seems that some people, especially older adults, are just generally more likely to faint than others from a lack of liquids.

If you are an older adult, you may faint after meals, especially when you stand up after a meal. This is because a lot of blood pools in the abdomen as it absorbs nutrients from the meal and less blood gets to your brain.

As people age, the ability of the nervous system to control blood pressure becomes less sensitive. Rising from a lying to a standing position, or standing for a long time, may cause low blood pressure. This condition, called orthostatic hypotension, can cause fainting. This happens because not enough blood is pumped from the heart to the brain.

Low blood sugar from diabetic treatment or other causes can also cause fainting.

As a healthcare provider I'd say don't worry about this so much right now. All that they are doing is looking out for you. The tests they are doing are being done to help determine what the cause of these episodes are. If there is a cause of real concern then it will be addresssed then. Sometimes people can be perfectly healthy and still have fainting episodes. Wait this out....it could be nothing. And if it turns out to be something to worry about...be glad that it was caught.

You should see a pediatric cardiologist. They will do more advanced cardiac testing such as a stress test or a 24 hour halter monitor, an ECHO-Doppler, etc. These tests will tell them if there are any cardiac arrythmias or valve problems etc. They will probably do some other testing too, it might take a couple of test to see what is going on. In the meantime, take it easy and tell your parents if you don't feel right so you can go to the doctors if you need to. Hang out for awhile with your friends for awhile till the experts find out what's going on...Take care!

There are a lot of reasons you could've fainted. Are you re-hydrating when you exercise? (could be dehydration). Had you eaten recently before you ran? (could be low blood sugar). Were you having your period? (could be anemic).
Try not to panic, and concentrate on taking care of yourself. Eat well, and get plenty of sleep. And God bless you.
