I was wondering why would you want to change from the pump to the pen.......
The pump is a more physiological way to deliver the insulin to your body and can control the peaks of glucose in an easy way (excellent for young people).
But if you´re planning to change anyway, normally you shouldn't feel uncomfortable while injecting with the pen.
You can choose any place in the body where you have fat (tummy, thighs, under arms.....).
Take in consideration that you will at least need to make 3 injections a day (before every meal) and maybe one before going to bed.
Good luck!

No, the needles that are used in insulin pens are very small, most people who use them say that they don't really hurt at all. Most people use their abdomen or thigh for the subcutaneous injections.
May I ask why you're switching from an insulin pump though? Managed properly, a pump is probably the best way to get really tight control over diabetes, even better than regimens requiring 4 injections daily for most people.

Forget anything you have ever been told about Diabetes.

And get this - it has nothing to do with insulin, exercise, diet or anything else you've heard in the past. It's all based on latest breakthrough research that Big Pharma is going Stir Crazy to hide from you.

I'm a nurse and haven't injected myself, but i lots of my patients do and none of them say it hurts. The needles these days are very fine. To begin with you may feel uncomfortable but once you get used to it you probably won't even feel it. The usual places to inject are the tops of your arms, thighs or tummy.

The only pain comes from the prick of the needle, but the pain is very minimal. Sometimes I don't feel any pain at all.
