You put your own line and check it off and put vegetarian. Halls are always prepared for this. The person hosting the wedding will just call it in. Especially if it is so formal that you get to choose what meal you want, this should be no problem.

Usually there are at least 2-3 vegetarians at a wedding, so you won't be the only one.

Good Luck.

Can you not phone the people organising the wedding and mention your situation or phone the venue.

I have never been anywhere where vegetarians are not catered for. I am also a bit shocked that there are no fish choices as well, my son cannot digest beef and I would've thought there were other people who would want a bit more choice.

Other than that just go along and make sure you eat beforehand.

Hope you enjoy yourself anyway.

As a banquet chef we are always prepared for a few vegetarians. Sometimes there is a fish option or pasta with vegetables. I would put Vegetarian on the response card.

Write whatever you please. This doesn't mean you have to eat it. You could eat only the vegetables. Or if you prefer you can state veg. only. Any leftover meat is taken home by the wedding party's family anyway. If it's a buffet they just have more leftovers. They will either freeze the meat for another time or give it to other family members, so don't worry about it.

Every Chef I've ever known or worked for always makes a vegetarian option at a banquet hall. Chef's make options for just about anything you can think of, alergies, kosher, special diet. Just ask and they will be more than glad to make a special dish for you.

That they would like to sit next to a BIG meat eater at the dinner... lol
Actually they could ask the establishment to replace the Meat for vegetables or fruit to eat instead.

Just an idea

GOOD LUCK

Usually you let the bride/groom know you are a vegetarian (if they don't know already) and they have the catering place prepare a special dish just for you. Easy enough.

Be honest - write on the invite that you are vegetarian. The bride and groom should understand.

Call ahead and ask whomever sent you the invitation if it would be okay for you to write "vegetarian" on the card.
