My girlfriend has a small business making beaded and precious stones jewelry. She has found quite a market for jewelry making parties and although started out marketing for a younger audience, it has since grown to include an adult age group. For a certain fee, per person( which can vary depending on the supplies she brings), she arrives at a clients home and teaches some simple techniques, provides alittle guidance and everyone goes home with a unique necklace , bracelet or earrings. The younger girls feel grown up and the ladies love drinking the wine and gossiping. Find someone local who does good work and has the time for weekend afternoon parties and pay them a flat rate for their time and supplies(of course charging the clients slightly more) It's unique idea, every guest walks away with something special to them, you support and help showcase a local artist as well as you profit, it's a win win!

It's a wonderful idea and I am very fond of planning parties myself. But a few concerns your kids parties sound centered mainly on girls, try adding a few boy parties such as Pirate, Sports so on. Your adult parties are good as well but also make sure you are ready to not just themed parties but parties that are formal (balls etc.. ). Also a suggestion lots of teenagers lately have needed help planning there birthdays would be glad if they got someone who was just a bit more in the know in terms of what they want. have fun and make sure you advertise like crazy tell everyone you know print business cards flyer's anything. Also for the teenager parties go to Myspace and just search and look at all the interests it will help you so much!

I think you are taking on too much. You need to focus on either adults or children. Doing speed dating is totally different then hosting tea parties for little girls. I hope you have a great marketing plan for whichever you decide. You can be VERY profitable with a great plan and good ideas and the best management. GOOD LUCK and many successes.

I dont know about the whole kids parties thing, kids are so into the "now" its hard to tell whats "in" sometimes. As far as the adult parties that sounds like a great idea .There are a lot of adults out there who have been out of the dating scene for a long time and dont exactly know what to do to meet people anymore. Including myself.

If it was a 4 - 6yr. I would make a tea party with a pink table and a little tray on the table full of treats that they would like. Then let tyhem dress up as princesses. Then let them make a fairy play. Then Let them eat the princess cake and open the presents. At the end watch Cinderella. till everyone leaves.

Just make sure you keep good records when mincing childrens parties with adult functions. Don't want to be around when you get the angry call after a stripper hops out of a 6-year-old's birthday cake.

honestly, no. I like to do all her parties myself. It is cheaper and I personally like doing it.
But depending on where you are, the childrens party business is big. I would look into craft parties or sport themed parties as well. Kids love crafts ansd sports.

Good luck/

I think it is a great idea!Take all the stess out of a persons special day they have planned for a loved one or just for fun.I would suggest though to start out with your basic parties then add on as you learn experience.children are the best to learn from.

I think you have a great concept there. Advertising is going to be a major concern because you need to get the word out to the various age groups.

I have heard of places like that. They do well in certain areas. I personally would plan parties like that myself but I know many many moms that have all the 'fun stuff' taken care of for them.
