place the filling and fold. Press edge of empanada with your fingers. Water, milk or egg can be use as a ´glue´, so you can brush all around inside, before folding. Then starting at the upper corner of the empanada, take a small portion of dough from the edge with your index finger and press it inward. Hold that small portion of dough with your thumb, continue pressing softly with your thumb has you take another small portion of the edge, just next to the one being hold, with your index and press it inward and then again, lift your thumb and now place it pressing the 2nd portion taken with the index. Continue walking with both fingers through the edge until the border is done. You would get better with practice. This border can be use on pies, too.

1 With the filling in the middle, to fold the dough circle in half.
2 Press slightly with your fingers to secure the filling.
3 Using the tines of a fork, press to seal completely.
4 You can also use one of those pastry makers but the fork is the most inexpesive one out there.
**You can make them by using seasoned ground beef (I have used taco seasoning) and buying dough circles from the freezer section of many supermarkets. You can also try phyllo dough but make sure you drain it well. This is a great way to use leftover chicken, beef, pork, etc. just make sure it is chopped in small pieces. Fry (or bake) them until golden brown

You can mash the edges with the tines of a fork after you fold it over, this seals the edges well and they look neat along the edges. Dont use too much filling or it will mush out no matter what.

wet the sides you stick together and you may double-fold them. additional tip is to brush the dough lightly with margarine to give them a browned effect
