They are over 100 HPV types. HPV types that cause hand or foot warts are not generally found in the genital area.

30+ HPV types are commonly found in the genital area. Genital HPV types are grouped in two categories. Low risk HPV types these are commonly associated with visible genital warts and high risk HPV types which are found in cervical and other genital cancer. High and low risk HPV types are spread via sex either through sex play or intercourse.

Studies have shown that high–risk HPV types are found in 99.7% of cervical cancer cases. Infection with high–risk HPV types also is a significant risk factor for cervical squamous intraepithelial lesions (SIL) and high–grade cervical disease.

is, it is virtually impossible for a woman to develop significant squamous lesions without first having had an HPV infection

yes.it is transmitted from skin to skin contact.

Genital HPV is spread through skin-to-skin contact, not through an exchange of bodily fluid.

you could get it from shaking someones hand.

Males are the carriers of the virus. The only way women get it is by having sex.
