Lately his levels have been up and down. today it went down to 25.
he is on some kind of pill to control the high level. don't know the name, sorry.
i am concerned about the low levels and the fact that the levels are fluctuating so much.
we are going to call the doctor tomorrow morn. just wondering about how low is too low?

my mom and I both tested the meter and our readings came out normal so i think the meter is correct.

My diabetes fluctuates wildly too. Have had it hit 38 quite a few times. Normal healthy readings fall between 80-140. Eat a piece of hard candy if it fall to low again, making sure to retest 5-10 minutes later. Or even a glass of milk contains some natural sugar. He has to be careful not to let it get to low as a coma can and will kill you. Best thing is to talk to his doctor and maybe get with a dietitian to plan out a stable diet. How active you are plays a big role also--good luck

Normal for diabetics are 70 to 150 :] But I would stay above 90. Considering I am a diabetic myself. Type One though.

25? And he's still alive? Arer you sure 25? You can go into a diabetic coma at 50. You better get him to the emergency room if it drops below 50 again.

Hi, sorry to hear that your dad has diabetes.
But if his sugar is at 25 you should take him to the er.
it should range 70 to 130.
