That depends.

As Beebs pointed out, you want to stay away from genetically engineered soy. Look for NON GMO on the label.

Soy, as God made it, is very good. It's so versitile. Tofu, miso, soy flour, soy milk. Loaded in nutrition, easy to digest.

There are a lot of alarming articles out there about the dangers of soy. Those articles refer to foods that have been "created" such as soy cheese and the multitude of "veggie meats" that are soy based. They are highly processed. Highly chemicalized. And not good for you. Better than meat, true. But there are healthier ways to live.

Very good for you, yes. You only have to look at countries like china, where they consume a lot of soya products. They dont have the problems associated with obesity that we westerners have , and have a low incidence of heart disease.Ive eaten soya products and used soya milk for years, and rarely get ill or put on weight. For women, its very good for the hormone balance and easing symptoms of pmt and the menopause.

Soya is very good for you as it reduces cholesterol. In addition those people whose diets are based on mainly vegetable products are likely to have lower bloo-pressure than those that rely on meat products as the mainstay of their diet.

Soya is wonderful - added to which low-fat, unsweetened soya milk, tastes like a dream and can be drunk by the litre without those nasty side effects from cows milk - no nausea, vomiting or flatulence. (So long as you are not allergic to soya.)

Not any more. Over 90% of soy has been genetically modified and is not so far removed from its natural state that it is no longer considered healthy. It has been spliced with genes to make it resistant to heavy pesticides, and genes from other toxic things to make it resistant to pests. Google modified soy to read more about it. I developed a severe allergy to it in its modified state. Non GM soy would still be a good source of soy protein, if you can find it-it is expensive. I use beans and legumes as a soy replacement. Geneticals Modified Soy lecithin is in many products, including chocolate
