If you scorched the bottom, the beans will have a smokey burnt taste through the whole batch.

I'm not talking about a nice smokey bbq taste, but a nasty burnt bitter taste.

Get another can of beans the smell lingers inthem no matter what. Can not get the taste of burnt out of beans at all. Beans you have to constantly keep turning especially if they r canned ones. Were they pinto beans? Next time try putting a little milk fresh milk is fine then add your cheses and there you have really cheesy beans good enough to make bean burritos in flour tortillas.Enjoy!!!

Your ONLY can of beans! Well, gently remove the beans from the pot, leaving the scorched beans in the bottom with all the beans that cling to them. Put the removed beans in a pot, add garlic, chopped onion and gently (yes low heat) cook them until the onion is clear. Good luck.

you must throw them away and start again. Paying close attention to not leave things cooking on the stove while taking a shower? lucky u didn't catch them on fire!
