your body produces so much phlegm in winter cause the air is dry. All it's doing is providing more lubrication for your throat. Spitting it is ok, on the other hand, swallowing it could cause you some stomach disease cause all that air you are breathing is being filtered by the nose and the phlegm in your back nose and thraquea, the phlegm stops much of that dust and microorganisms... `if you swallow it it all goes down to your stomach and could cause some disease.

Well you probably catch a cold virus every winter and that causes your body produces a lot of phlem.

You'll prolly find me sick too cuz I swallow my phlem too.

maybe allergy related. Do you have COPD, do you smoke? Or have you smoked? could be chronic bronchitis. It's fine to swallow your own spit and sputum, as long as it's not cup fulls (Which would make you nothing more than nauseated)
