a canker sore is actually a mouth ulcer IN your mouth, on your gums or inner lip....it's not syphilis honey....
if you have a canker sore on the OUTSIDE of your lip, well that's not a c.s., that's herpes and yes that is a virus and you dont want to touch it.

You can get canker sores all the time--they're from mouth injury or acid in your stomach or even from using tartar control toothpaste. Also, check your toothbrush, it should be a small head with soft bristles to minimize bumping your gums/lips, etc.

Here's how to get rid of a canker sore reallllly really fast: Take a Qtip, dip it in hydrogen peroxide, then just grind the tip into the sore. Seriously. It'll hurt like a SOB for about 2 seconds, then it wont hurt anymore---you basically want to spin the tip into the sore UNTIL it turns white. You'll know what I mean when you see it.
Then you're done. It will not hurt anymore and the "white" will be gone by tomorrow or the next day.

While ulcerative sores can be a symptom of syphillis, chances are you are simply prone to canker sores. Get checked by the doc if it really bothers you.

By far, the best remedy for canker sores I've found is called Magic Mouthwash or Nystatin. Both are basically the same thing that comes in a liquid. You swish the liquid around in your mouth for a few minutes a few times a day and will see results in 1-3 days. It's prescription only so ask your doctor. The medicine can be prescribed by your doctor to include a numbing agent, like lidocaine, so make sure your doctor includes this if you want it. Some doctors don't automatically include it.

Good luck!

Possibly, but not with those symptoms. Munya (above) is spot on. Take her advice or better still, see your GP.
