As others have said, eating a low fat diet along with whole grains (particularly oats) will lower it.

High fiber foods (likes oats, bran, whole grains), have a modest impact in lowering cholesterol by binding bile acids (made from cholesterol) in your intestinal tract. This is always a good option to incorporate into your diet, for more reasons than just cholesterol. The most effective natural remedy is niacin (a B vitamin), but it is not without side effects. Niacin can cause people to have facial flushing (you get very red and feel warm), some people experience this more than others and you may be able to decrease this by taking it with food and an NSAID (aspirin or ibuprofen). The best niacin products are available by prescription only, I suggest talking to your doctor about this. It is also safe to take niacin with ezetimibe (but your doctor should know). There are other natural products that claim to lower cholesterol like garlic, but most of these methods have very little evidence to support their use and have their own set of side effects as well. I am in my sixth and final year of pharmacy school, I hope that you find this information useful. PS ezitemibe has a lower incidence of muscle pain than the statins, you should give it a shot. Good luck.

Firstly, thumbs down on the manner and tone in which some people 'advise' others that cholesterol is not the cost of heart disease. Everyone has the right to his own beliefs. Saying that cholesterol is not the main cause of heart disease is quite a revelation and elicits some skeptism as it goes against the common knowledge. While I do not reject this theory, I do frown on the attitude of some supporters of this theory in promoting it.
In fact, there is a finding by a Dr Kilmer McCully in the mid 60's that the homocysteine levels in a person's blood is just as important a factor in determining his/her risk of cardiovascular disease. It was controversial in his time but its interest renewed in the 90's and is now an indisputable medical evidence for this theory. Mypoint is, there will always be new findings to shock common beliefs and theories, sometimes disputing it or supporting it. But no need to shoot them down!
Anyway, back to the question, if you are looking for natural food, takes lots of fruits and vegetables. You basically need lots of fibre and anti-oxidants. Chrysanthemum is also good as it contains phytosterols i.e. plant sterols that help prevent reabsorbtion of cholesterol into the blood.

A troll is a person who enters an established community such as an online discussion forum and intentionally tries to cause disruption, often in the form of posting messages that are inflammatory, insulting, incorrect, inaccurate, absurd, or off-topic, with the intent of provoking a reaction from others.
This particular one does so with multiple identies as you can see above by the characteristic capital letter typing.
He often directly attacks those who disagree including clicking on all of your other answers and voting multiple thumbs down or voting against your response.
Let Yahoo! know about this character and report his abuse.

Surpirsingly it's not about lowering you col. Its about switching your col. Although you should only have one form of bread a day maybe two. Like on day have cream of wheat for breakfest and the next have a piece of toast. Just keep switching and it helps major with burning of lipids. (fat)
