Do they really have animal fat in them?

Chocolate cream Oreos are completely vegan, so are Spring Oreos and a few others.

They are vegetarian now. Back in the day they started putting lard in the oreos and someone took out an add for the front page of a newspaper stating that they had lard in them. Since then the company quit putting lard in it. Weird huh. I learned that in a high school science class a long time ago.

They used to have whey in them. But as of a couple of years ago oreos are actually vegan now.
(The "normal" ones at least. I'm not sure about the fudge ones.)
Oreo's did originally contain lard as well, but they changed that several years ago (sometime before 1992.) in no small part due to pressure of the Jewish community. (Oreo's weren't kosher when they contained lard.)

Regular Oreos Ingredients:
Sugar, flour, hydrogenated soybean oil, cocoa, high fructose corn syrup, whey, corn starch, baking soda, salt, soy lecithin, vanillin, chocolate
Mini Oreos Ingredients:
Flour, sugar, hydrogenated soybean oil, cocoa, lactose, high fructose corn syrup, corn flour, whey, corn starch, salt, baking soda, soy lecithin, vanillin, chocolate
Whey and lactose would be animal ingredients (milk). They would be considered vegetatarian, but not vegan

Some contain dairy products, some are vegan, but they definitely don't contain lard.

unfortunately, yes they have lard in the filling. some of the best things in life come from animals.
