expensive, but Claritin D works great. You really see a difference. Course it could be just my allergies too that it helps.

The only way the smoker's cough will go away is by getting rid of the culprit that's causing it. And that would be by quitting smoking. The cough is coming from your lungs, not your nose. The two meds you mentioned treat nasal conditions. They would not help get rid of the smoker's cough. You could try cutting down on your smoking. This may help the cough a bit. By the way, I'm not preaching here. I smoke too. I have cut my cigs down to about 5 a day, depending on how my stress levels are. I should really quit, but, find it a hard thing to do. Good luck and I hope you find a solution to your problem soon.
