You can't get asthma by kissing, but a good one can take your breath away.

Asthma is an allergy and is triggered by something. The best non medication treatment for asthma is learning your triggers and avoiding them. Common triggers are smoke, dust, mold, mildew, plants, dust mites, pets and grass/weeds.

If you can not figure our your triggers, you may need to see an allergist and have allergy screening done. This may point out your triggers.

The National Asthma Prevention Program and the Expert Panel of Diagnosis and Management of Asthma both agree if you have to use a prescription inhaler such as albuterol more then two time per week, your asthma is NOT in control and you will need a prescription controller medication.

Controller medications are steroids (Asthmacort Asthmanex, Flovent, Pulmocort), Leukotriene modifier (Singulair, Aculade, Zyflo) or mast cell stabilizers (Cromolyn sodium, Intal, Tilade).

You may want to talk to your doctor about several strong controller medications and maybe Xolair shots.

If you want a proven, all-natural way to cure your asthma, without having to pay for useless medications with harmful side-effects, then this is the most important page you'll ever read.

asthma is not in any way an infectious condition, it is a mixture of genetics and environment.

However I wonder if I know what you are getting at? Viruses are spread by kissing and viral illnesses are the commonest and strongest asthma trigger. I suppose if you kiss someone and get a virus from them, it would trigger off your asthma. That might happen, it also demonstrates how people wrongly apply things as cause and effect all the time.

No most certainly not. Asthma is not contagious, Although it can be heredity. I have asthma my mum has it my sister has it , along with a niece. Asthma usually developes after you have a bad flu, bronchitis. You can also get asthma from smoking, working in a dusty environment and from been overweight.

Of course you are!! Asthma is not a disease its a medical condition that affects your breathing tubes. Things like dust, exercise, animals, heat, coldness, colds & flus can trigger it off. Its not something you can catch if you kiss somebody! Usually its heradiatory. I know this because I've had Asthma for 20 years now.
Hope that helps

Well, that depends on what her allergens are. Because asthma may be caused by allergy and food can be an allergen. If you eat something that she is allergic to, then no, you can't kiss her temporarily. Any chemical or substance for that matter can be an allergen so the best thing you can do is to be sure that she is not allergic to anything that you eat, use or wear.

It is possible but unlikely:

If it is asthma brought on by an allergy to something such as mint and you have just had a mint chewing gum;

If it is asthma brought on by stress and you are an extremely good and passionate kisser!

Basically, she would tell you if it was a problem so do not worry about it!

Of course. She might get excited and have an asthma attack, but you certainly cannot catch it because it is not contagious. I would ask your doctor about information on asthma so that you are fully aware of the correct facts if I were you.
