I know people who live on an all raw food diet and they are very healthy. I am not one of them, but I do try to eat only raw foods for at least one of my meals per day.

The benefits of raw food is that they have all the natural enzymes that get lost during the heating process. There is more and more evidence that the combination of vitamins and pro-biotics are best from vegetables and legumes that are raw. Many beans can be raw and sprouted, providing plenty of protein.

People also eat raw foods for spiritual and ecological reasons. There are many traditions that emphasize the purity of raw foods. And they represent direct food from the Earth.

I don't think it's necessary for me to eat raw foods all the time. I'm not even a vegetarian. But I do try to eat only "real" food. Vegetables and meats (only grass fed) and nothing coming from a laboratory or a feed lot.

yes but it's hard, we are addicted to cooked food, it tastes good, smells good, it looks good, it stores well, i can microwave it up in 20 seconds, and such

but I know eating cooked food is not good for me, because my stomach is not a trash dump, eating lots of different foods and drink coke and beer is not good for me at all,

I tried to go all raw last month, it was hard, I make vegg juice and fruit juice and eat every 2 hours all day, and I end up losing 5lbs
and i started eating cooked food again

if theres a way to keep my weight up, then i'll eat only raw, i like it, i just dont' want to be eating all day
and btw, i felt great while on raw, and by raw, it's only fruits and vegg, no meat

Yes, it is healthy. I don't think I could do it though.
(Demi Moore is and has been on the raw food diet for quite a while. She's looking pretty healthy to me.)

Yes. If raw veggies are boring, try baked or steamed veggies.
