If your sinuses are still bothering you and your throat is sore, you might try a saline nasal RINSE (not a spray) A full warm water saline rinse goes in one nostril and out the other. It draws out all the gunk and shrinks the tissue (like swimming in the ocean).
The buffered salt doesn't 'sting' as much as plain salt water. You can use a new method like Nasopure, or the vintage, Netipot
You can do this a often as you like with no bad side effects.
You don’t need a prescription for this therapy. So if you live in a state like mine, they’ve pretty much “outlawed” sudafed medicine. Drug-free is really the way to go on a frequent-use basis.

My husband uses this to keep from getting bronchitis when he gets a sinus infection, and I use it to cure sinus infections. THere are many kinds of bacteria that live in the sinuses, and this gets rid of all the bad ones!.This is the only thing that really helped me --- my Dr. told me about a sinus wash that will kill bacteria. you need distilled water sea salt liquid chlorophyll and colloidal silver from the health food store. in a glass mix 1/4 cup water with a pinch of salt and heat to body temperature. add 5 drops each silver and chlorophyll and mix. using a large dropper (like one used for infant medication) drop 2 full droppersfull into one side of the nose while laying down. Turn the head and let it drain out the other nostril. Be sure to have paper towels handy. or just use a neti pot, I like this better. The silver kills the bacteria and there are several hundred kind that can live in the sinus cavities and anti biotics don't get rid of them all. Do this twice a day for a week, mixing up the mixture fresh each time. Then do it once a week for maintenance. There is nothing in this that will hurt you, and it cured me. I do not have to take claritin, or antibiotics anymore. best wishes

I once suffered from Chronic Bronchitis. I would suffer sometimes 3 to 4 times per year! Usually when there was a major change in the pressure outside (I live in the north, and the temperature spikes and dips do wonders to chronic sufferers of bronchitis!). Each time I would get horrible hacking coughs, hoarking up green phlegm..it was so frustrating!
The key to getting rid of your bronchitis is to find a way to completely eliminate the germs that are causing all the phlegm and irritation leading to your hoarking cough and heavy breathing. Keep reading to learn how to do kill these germs!!
This page it will change your life and make you feel 100% better within just 24 hours!

Well, this will sound very strange to you, but my Grandmother's recipe works every time. Do it right before you go to bed. Boil 3-4 Idaho potatoes (or potato skins) in water, covered for 15-20 minutes. Take the pot off the stove, put it on the table. Lean over the steam (be careful, don't lean too low!), cover your head with a towel or light blanket. Inhale the steam through your nose and mouth. Keep breathing like this for 10-15 minutes. Go to bed right away, don't cool off! When I was little I had to do it 3 nights in a row, now it works after two times. You can put eucalyptus oil in the water right before you start breathing. Use fresh potatoes every time you do the procedure. Make sure your blood pressure is not too high (in case you take special meds for it). There's another benefit from it: you get yourself a nice facial at the same time! To your health!

In my office I'll give a short term cough medicine....usually with codiene depending on the patients age. Bronchitis is usually caused by a virus. It can take up to a month to get rid of the cough. Usually the cough occurs with exertion (running, going up stairs, whatever). Although, I never dismiss an ongoing cough. To me it would be worth a return visit to your healthcare provider. With a return visit for this complaint I do a little bloodwork to determine infection and a chest xray. It depends on what I see and the individual (also the other meds and past history). Otherwise, plenty of fluids reduce mucus and help liquify secretions for your body to remove them.

What did the doc prescribe? Maybe another doctor or go back to the same one. My boyfriend had severe bronchitis and one doc only prescribed 2 meds and they didn't work. He went to another one because it was getting worse. He'd been like this for over a month until I forced him to go. He was prescribed Allegra D, an inhaler, something to kill the infection, and a nosespray. Sorry I don't have the names, there at home. The meds are very common though. He hasn't been coughing for over a week now.

I'm assuming the doctor gave you antibiotics for the infections? If you're feeling better aside from the cough, then chances are you're better from that end.
Try finding an OTC drug called Mucinex. It is made to help break up the phlegm and crud that is leftover after a cold or infection so your body can rid itself of the yuck. If this doesn't help then you may need to go back to the doctor and get a prescription strength expectorant.

I have lived with a chronic cough since I was a small child who got croup all the time. You probably need to give your cough more time to go away; sinus infections take a long time to shake.
You might want to try cinnamon flavored Jolly Ranchers (sugar-free, if you can find any) or cinnamon tea. My biology teacher suggested it to me when I started hacking up a lung during a test, and it helped.

The secret of health is to maintain drainage! Your body will heal itself 80% of the time if you give it a little help. You have to liquify
the infected secretions in your sinuses and bronchi so the natural
mechanisms can clear them out. Lots of liquids are good, but guiafenesin (Robitussin, Mucinex=expectorants) are better. To open the drainage channels of the sinuses you need a decongestant like pseudoephedrine (if you have high blood pressure check with your Doctor). Remember, not all infections take the same time to heal
