I want to have a graduation party in early june. dinner and dancing and drinks for about 100 people. the budget i set with my dad will be 5000k. i want a good dj that can spin hiphop, reggae, rb, soca,etc. and has club experience. how much should i expect to pay for a party that will last 4-5 hrs? how do i go about finding a good dj?

I'm going to assume, that since you are having dinner, you are having a caterer.

Ask them for who they have worked with before.

Also, most DJs will be able to provide you with a song list that they use. Take a look at that. Find the one you like the most titles from.

Many DJs will work with you if you want certain songs, or DON'T want particular songs (the chicken song comes to mind).

One good way is check out wedding planners, shops, etc. because they will have DJ's on file...then check them out...get references of those who have used them. They will charge for so many hours and quote you a fee....do some comparison shopping...need to do soon because they will book up for June early.....
