Sharon have you or guardian taken him to see a doctor? It sounds like a sinus infection.I am 30 yrs old and I have been doing this all my life.I would have him drink more water, blow his nose more if you have a vaporizer,Vicks is a good choice.I also suggest some green tea three times a day. This could also be year round seasonal allergies.Dust, mold, pollen from houseplants rven common household cleaners.ciggarette smoke even second hand on you or someone else,do you have pets?If you dont treat this it can lead to more serious health problems in the future. Also a saline nasal spray could be useful followed by a little Baby vicks under the nose, good luck Sharon one more thing childrens Benadryl.Goes by weight and age.

First of all, get him to his doctor. Sounds like a really bad congested sinus cold..or sleep apnea. Keep a humidifier in his room and run it at all times, try a decongestant cold and sinus for children, put a wee bit of vics vapo rub just inside his nose when he goes to bed, rub his wee back with the vapo rub too. Not too much around the nose, very strong smell, vapors could irritate the eyes, try mixing it with a little vaseline. Apply as needed.

Take him to the Dr my son has the same problems he has asthma i would elevate the head of his bed or put pillows behind him it helps to open the airway if it is worse at night try taking him in the bathroom and running the hot water in the shower and let him breathe in the steam and If I were you I would get a vaporizer that seems to help my son alot hes 5 now and we still use it. I wish you all the best of luck

I would take him to the doctor immediately!
He may just have a sinus problem.
But he could also be allergic to something in your house which is causing his nose to be full of mucus.
Or he could have sleep apnea, but that is very rare in little kids and usually wouldn't be combined with mucus in the nose.

First of all, if you have not done so already, you should bring the child to the doctor.
After you made sure that there is nothing wrong, you might want to use some essence of eucalyptus or Tiger Balm: they help with breathing.

It might be sleep apnea, which is when a person stops breathing during sleep. It would reccomend your grandson be taken to a sleep disorder specialist, they might be able to tell you why your grandson is sleeping the way he is.
