But this last week when I drank my last 2 I started to have problems. I keep waking up with my heart racing this has happen atleast twice. It stays like that for about 1 hr. I am 18. I know I should stop drinking it but should I also go to my doctor? What should I do?

Definitely stop drinking it ASAP but also eliminate other caffeinated products from your diet (colas, Mountain Dew, chocolate, etc.) and any diet pills or anything with Kava. Eliminating sugars will also help. Drink at least eight 8oz glasses of water each day and take a good multi-vitamin to restore nutrients the caffeine destroyed.

You might get some headaches from reducing the caffeine but they shouldn't last long, maybe a couple days. If the racing continues after two days, call your doctor and see what s/he recommends. If you are on any medications, you should call the doctor right away just in case the excess caffeine interfered with them. You could also be experiencing stress symptoms which the caffeine is aggravating but you'll know once you stop the caffeine.

Good luck and feel better.

If you don't normally drink beverages with caffeine, then it is possible that you're having a reaction towards caffeine. Enviga, the latest beverage from BPW, a joint-venture between Nestle and Coca-Cola, contains green tea extract, caffeine, calcium and other ingredients. The amount of caffeine in Enviga is 100mg per serving which is comparable to a cup of coffee or tea. You should bring the can of Enviga or get a print out of the Enviga's ingredients - available online from enviga.com to your physician. Yes, it is a good idea to refrain from drinking enviga until your condition improves.

It happened to me also. I would advise seeing your doctor because rapid heart rate can be dangerous. I quit drinking so much cola, eating late in the evening and started drinking water with most of my meals. The rapid pulse rate seems to have gotten better.
