Thank you all but it's not raita - I've tried that - it's the one you get with onion bajhees - usually green in colour.

If you mean the yogurty one (raita), it's made fresh.
Dead easy:
Thick plain yogurt (Greek style works well)
mint leaves, chopped small**
cucumber, chopped small (optional)
salt

(**Fresh or frozen mint or if you can't get that, Bart's do a preserved version in jars. Don't use British mint sauce as it's made with vinegar and will taste revolting in this recipe!)

Mix the yogurt, mint and cucumber together with a pinch of salt, leave to stand for 10 mins, then taste and add a little more salt if necessary.

Traditionally served drizzled with spiced oil. If you want to do this, dry-fry mustard seeds and cumin seeds (ie: add no oil) till they make popping noises. Pour a small amount of oil over the hot seeds, stir with the back of a spoon so you crush the seeds a bit, and pour onto the raita.

I have seen this for sale at some gourmet markets and delis but no-where specific that I can say. Try such shops in Cardiff and failing that, you could try mixing some mint sauce with natural youghurt.
