how does respiratory systems depend on other body systems?

If I can find more time I'll answer in more detail... but the Respiratory System depends greatly on other systems of the body. Parts of the Respiratory System cannot function without blood flow to feed the lung tissues and so forth. So in this way, it is dependent on the Circulatory System. While the heart and circulatory system depend on the lungs for gas exchange, the lungs depend on the heart to pump blood to feed the lung tissue.

The Respiratory System also depends on the Nervous System to "tell" it to breathe. That's why you have a lot of paraplegic folks who are ventilator dependent (the most famous being Christopher Reeve). The connection to the brain is severed, so the Respiratory System cannot function without instructions from the Nervous System.

This list actually goes on and on (as all systems are interconnected), but those are two big ones. Is this for school? Good luck.

basically the circulatory system exchanges gases and lungs at the site of the aveoli in the lungs. The lungs exchange good oxygen from the atmosphere into the bloodstream at this site. This good oxygen circulates in the blood and nourishes the tissue throughout the body. Again at the exchange site of the aveoli lungs the oxygen is exchanged for the waste (like carbon dioxide) and carried out of the body by exhalation.
