I asked a qustion here a few days ago and I think a few people need info more than I did! My friends partner got crabs and said it must've been from staying at a friends house in the spare room. I questioned the likelihood of this.
Anyway loads of people said you can catch them from toilet seats. You can't its a popular MISCONCEPTION, they cant physically crawl on smooth surfaces and wouldnt leave the warmth and food from a body for a cold toilet seat.
They CAN live for 24 hours in bedding etc without food and heat, you'd have to be naked in another persons unwashed bedding (where they were naked) less than 24 hours after them (see how unlikely this is getting)
ANYWAY he just admitted to sleeping with another girl for the last 3 months!!!!
HA! toilet seats indeed.

to made in america, the MISCONCEPTION is that you catch them from toilet seats, if a lice were to fall off a person at that precise point it would be dying or damaged, you'd practically have to be on the toilet seat WITH the person with crabs to have it pass to you and infest you. It's a bit of a myth to make people feel less embarassed (not that they should be) about the most common cause. A few sourceshttp://www.cdc.gov/ncidod/dpd/parasites/lice/factsht_pubic_lice.htm
