AZO is phenazopyridine. It is NOT an antibiotic.
Phenazopyridine is a urinary tract analgesic (pain reliever). It's used to relieve symptoms of pain, burning, urinary urgency, and urinary frequency associated with urinary tract infections, trauma, surgery, catheter placement, or other painful conditions.
It also turns your urine BRIGHT orange. It's pretty weird!

It is a dye (which is why it turns pee orange), that also happens to be a urinary anesthetic. So it will relieve the pain from an infection - but you are still infected. So if you think you have an infection, get tested and treated because they can get serious fast.
It's handy on the weekends when your doctor is not in the office though - and thats about the only reason it should be used.
Good Luck
