HPV really doesn't affect guys all that much, so I really don't think he has much to worry about. It can cause genital warts for guys but this can be treated with medication and/or surgery to remove the warts. It can also cause penile and anal cancer but this is EXTREMELY rare, and is not always caused by HPV.

The major thing with HPV is the cervical cancer it can cause for women. Last year, 10,000 women in the US alone were diagnosed with cervical cancer and about 4,000 of them died from it! It is the second most common kind of cancer in women (after breast cancer). It is SO important that she stays on top of her yearly pap smears. And, if she has an abnormal pap smear she should be going every 3 - 4 months to get them done. Some women have to have a hysterectomy if they develop cervical cancer. If they have to have that done then obviously they will not be able to have children.

There is NO cure for HPV, but for most women it actually goes away on it's own. Their bodies can basically "fight off" the virus.

Since your friends girlfriend has HPV he is definitely at risk for catching the virus himself. Luckily, HPV doesn't cause much harm for guys so he really doesn't have anything to worry about. But, if they do break up, he needs to realize that he might have this virus and could possibly spread it to any other future girlfriend he may have. Unfortunately, there is NO test for guys to determine if they have HPV or not. Guys usually find out they have the virus by either developing warts, or finding out their girlfriend or wife has contracted the virus (from the boyfriend or husband of course).

There are more than 70 different types of HPV. Several types are associated with genital warts. If not treated, it will cause cervical cancer in women.
Warts on the vaginal wall may reduce the ability of vaginal tissues to stretch during childbirth. Rarely, a baby born to a mother with genital warts may develop warts in his or her throat. The baby may need surgery to prevent airway obstruction.
While it won't completely prevent genital warts or cervical cancer, a new vaccine known as Gardasil offers protection from the most dangerous types of HPV. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved the vaccine in June 2006. The vaccine isn't a treatment for existing HPV infection or genital warts. However, the vaccine may benefit women already infected with one or more types of HPV by protecting them against the HPV types they don't have.

I got clinically diagnosed with herpes virus (type 2) about four yrs ago, whilst I was still attending college and had a mindless one-night stand. I understand a lot of girls say this, but I swear I had never done that sort of thing before. I just made a massive mistake that one time and suddenly it seemed like I was going to have to live with the consequences for my entire life. The hardest part was feeling I could never date other men again. After all, who wants to go out with a girl who has sores around her "you know what" area? But since a friend shared this movie https://tr.im/RsVCZ everything got better.

Not only was I able to clear away all remnants of the hsv from my system in less than 21 days, but I was also able to start dating again. I even met the guy of my dreams and I'm so fortunate to write that just a week ago, in front of everyone in a crowded restaurant, he got down on one knee and proposed to me!! This method provided me the opportunity to be happy and experience real love again. Now I hope that I can help others too by sharing this story.

It is not cureable but the symptoms are very treatable. If she actually has warts, they can be removed. If she only had an abnormal pap smear, she will probably have to have a leep to remove the abnormal cells. After that there is like a 90 percent chance she wont have anymore problems. She does need to continue with her follow up pap smears just to make sure.
