I am going to have my boyfriend get tested for hep b. We aren't sure if he's vaccinated or not, but we don't think he is. (But were not positive) So when he goes to get tested what test will they do on him? Also we want to know if he has a current infection and I want to make sure he never had it before either so what should i have him tell the doctor?

Your doctor will draw his blood and will be able to tell:
if he's been vaccinated
if he has a current infection
if he has a chronic infection
if he has a chronic infection with a current flare up.

What makes you think he has hepatitis? what are his symptoms? If you're worried about hepB specifically, tell your doctor and he can do the bloodwork. My advice though would be to tell the doctor where/when/how long/what it feels like/how often/when it's better and worse/what you've taken for the pain. It may be something totally different, but regardless they should be able to figure it out. best of luck.

If he's had the hep b vaccine he would probably know, because you have to get three doses. Alot of adults haven't been vaccinated against it, because it was not required when we were children. The children are now required to get the vaccine with their scheduled boosters. To be tested they will draw his blood and do a CBC (complete blood count). Chances are slim that he has it unless he's been an IV drug user or had a blood transfusion with infected blood, it is rarely passed as an STD.

Your boyfriend should have been vacinated against hep b at birth, with boosters at 2, 4, 6 and 12 months. If not, a simple blood test at his doctor will determine whether he is immune or not.

i think of you're perplexed. became the well-being practitioner attempting out for antibodies against Hep B on your device? there's a blood attempt to be sure in the experience that your device will face as much as Hep B while you're ever uncovered to it and that i'm thinking that's what you have been examined for. call and ask your well-being practitioner just to ascertain.

being HBV positive and not knowing how i contracted it, i think that the important question is not whether he was immunized or whether he has had it, but is he immune from it? a hep panel can tell you all of those things. is there some reason you believe he has HBV? symptoms? i'm also interested in another answer that says its rarely passed sexually, i hadn't heard that
