the only thing the nurse told me was he has not scheduled you for a cath. The results will be sent to my doctor first part of the week.

If the nurses don't call you after the doctors get the result don't worry too much. If the test came back bad the nurse or doctor would have called back immediately.

If they didn't keep you in the hospital or admit you in the hospital, then the tests didn't indicate that there was a serious problem. Most stress tests that show something of concern, always, or I should say usually are followed up with a cardiac cath to rule out any suspected blockages. So, I think the odds are in your favor.

Please try to relax, and wait till Monday to call the dr's office to schedule an appt. for you with your dr. asap-I say asap so that you can meet with him/her, and get your answers. It sounds like they may not know everything until they do the cath. Is that scheduled yet? Please don't worry. Just please get ahold of your dr. first thing this next week, and if needed, ask to have your dr. call you to answer your concerns, let you know what all is going on. It's your right, it's your body. You do have the right to know what is going on. Be prepared, in case, that your dr. may call and tell you he only knows so much, or not much at all (he should share with you what he does know already). Until the cath test is done. I wish you the best, Take care.

Results rarely is ever are relayed to you after a stress echo cardiogram. Your doctor must carefully go over the data, and may not contact you at if if the results are normal.

Try and be patient. I know that is hard, as I have waited for results from my echo cardiograms as well.

Best Wishes

No - you should not worry. If they are abnormal, they are abnormal in such a way that delaying action is not going to harm you in any way. If you'd had acute changes that needed immediate intervention, the nurse would have brought the results to the Dr. immediately and he would have discussed them with you.

Other than that the tech didn't say, "Oh, my God" and faint dead away, you don't know anything you didn't beforehand. Like all imaging studies in medicine, it isn't an absolute. It requires interpretation, and that will be done by the radiologist or cardiologist who interprets the pictures. Be patient and get your info in a day or two as instructed.
