Ok--just because I know about this first hand, am I throwing in my 2 cents to this.
While Green Tea is very good for you, too much can be very bad for you. That comes straight from 5 doctors that I know--3 of them, heart specialists.
A friend of mine has an existing heart problem. She got on the Green Tea kick and did fine for a while. About 2 months into it, she went to her heart dr. for her check up and was pulled off of the Green Tea.
So the moral of this story is this--too much of anything is bad for you. It's called moderation. You should also be careful not to overdo Green Tea before dental work either (that came from my dentist)--has something to do about how fast you can stop bleeding (clotting) when operated on. Hope this helps.

Green Tea is known to help PREVENT heart disease due to its high amounts of antioxidants.
However, if you already have severe heart disease, or are very caffeine sensitive, large amounts of green tea may cause dangerous heart rhythm abnormalities.
There is decaf green tea.

It doesn't cause heart problems, but in someone who already has them, it can aggravate them. Pregnant or breastfeeding women shouldn't use it. It hasn't been tested to see if it's safe on the baby. I know that if I have something with as much caffeine as the caffeinated kind has in it, I do get heart palpitations and generally feel yucky. Some people have an intolerance to caffeine, but there is decaf formulas.

I doubt it. Green tea is made from tannin (a waste product of plants) so it's probably just as harmful for you as any other tea but I know it can help you live longer and it qualifies, as long as it's not too sugary, for a replacement drink for water in that whole eight ounces of water a day.
