Yey! My favorite easy-to-cook dish!

Here goes:

Make sure your chicken and pork are bite sizes. Cubed meat are preferrable. Put them in a pan. Add about a half cup to a cup of soy sauce and a half cup to a cup of vinegar. Now you can adjust the proportions for vinegar and and soy sauce depending on your taste - if you want it a bit on the salty side, have more soy sauce, if you want it on the sour, tangy side have more vinegar. Add around 15 to 20 peppercorns and 2 to 3 dried laurel leaves. Cover the pan and cook over medium heat. Please don't stir while it has not boiled yet. That'll cause the vinegar to evaporate fast leaving you with a very salty pork and chicken dish. You'll know it is cooked because the liquid has boiled and the meats are tender!

Happy eating!I

bench gave you the exact way of cooking adobo just the way I do it but if you're going to cook chicken and pork adobo (of course there should be a lot of garlic) you should put a bit of slice ginger coz studies shows that you should never cook pork and chicken in the same recipe (it has to do something with toxins released duing cooking) and ginger can prevent this (the exact study I can not explain) and the real reason why you should not mix while the vinegar hasn't boiled yet is because the vinegar will not cook and it will leave a rather blaah taste.and one more thing you should add water to your adobo and when you have perfected your adobo, you can experiment with it like yu can add a bit of sugar, have it a little bit dry or watery...there are lots of ways of cooking adobo here in the philippines, every region has one,and I can cook around 4 kinds of it,but you have to start with the basic.
