the admonishment below not to "believe everything you read" is particularly amusing, considering that every God-fearing Christian lives their lives according to a single, internally inconsistent text written to teach morals and obedience to ancient goat herders.

As is pointed out in the article, "those were the most common names found among Jews in the first centuries BCE and CE."

Jesus son of Joseph is the Christ...the Messiah. He never even KISSED a girl let alone became a Father of Anyone. Now, if you really want to twist this all around, you COULD, I suppose, technically make him a Father. Lemme 'splain. Jesus is one of the 3 parts of the Triune God...God(the True Father), The Holy Spirit, and Jesus Christ. Now, since they are all one, you could I suppose consider Jesus Father of us all. However, you will get some odd stares and quite a few arguments since this is a "this is right but only in a certain kind of light" sort of thing. Because, after all, God the Father is really the true Father.

Hope that helped and didn't confuse things.

Michael

Jesus is not the son of Joseph because when Joseph accepted Mary as his wife, Mary was already conceiving Jesus through the spirit of God. Jesus is not the father of any human being on earth but a Lord God of Man and the Son of God

It always amazes me how you all try so hard to state a sentence or ask a question, & you don't even know you stuck your own foot into your mouth. I can see the sly slick way you all word your questions, But it will not work with me, Joeseph was not Jesus Father, God was, & neither did Jesus fathered any children. Now when you get a little CS come back & ask another question, Oh, I forgot, You may not know what CS means, Common Sense.

Well, I think the guy in the article said it best B, so I'll just quote him:

"I don't think this changes the fundamentals of faith," Mr. Cameron said in an interview this week. "But the evidence is pretty darn compelling and it definitely bears further study."

Ta-da!

Joseph was Jesus Christ stepfather, Mary was his mother and Jehovah God is Jesus Christ Father. Jesus never was married to anyone and never ever had any children

well, if he had 4 children, who had each 4 childre, and so on, than somehow most of us are descended from Jesus.
But if, as is probably so, all his children remained within the Jewish Faith, than most Jews would have some blood line relating them to Jesus, which probably means that the Nazis killed several million Jesus descendants in WWII
