My dogs jaw has been quivering and this morning her eye has retracted slightly, and has difficulty opening her mouth wide. she still has healthy appetite and can see out of both eyes. looked up lockjaw but can't see how she could have contracted this as she has had no open wounds and has had no contact with cow or horse feaces. obviousley going to make vet appointment tomorrow but any help would be gratefully received.

I would think the best thing to do is take her to the Vet ASAP

There is but a remote possibility your dog has fractured her jaw. This can be easier done than imagined but, fortunately, it is easily remedied as well. A previous Siamese cat of mine had similar symptoms to what you have described and all he had done was knock his mouth on the side of a wooden box!

See your vet ASAP. I hope it will all turn out fine for you and your pet. Sending her 'get well' wishes, Mo & Pets!

If she has been chewing on sticks or anything else outside check to see if she has something stuck or lodged in her teeth or in her gums???
If not then if you can get her to a vet today don't wait until tomorrow. This doesn't sound too good to me.
Good luck!
P.S. Don't give her any medications at all. It will only do more harm than good!

Take her to the vet immediately, why wait until tomorrow - these symptoms could be for various reasons - don't wait, just go. It could be some sort of a fit, or even types of poisoning. #all the best for happy result.

i would ring the vet today for advice. They will always put your mind at rest and probably want to see her. its not worth taking the risk of waiting till tommorrow.
