Its okay if the songs she chooses are too long. They really don't have to be edited down. There is nothing that says the song has to actually finish by the time she gets there. You just need the person who is working the CD player to fade it out or stop it at the appropriate moment. I know she has probably already done this, but be sure and check with the church to see if they have any restrictions on music. Ours had a rule about secular music, as in we couldn't use it. Our pieces had to be religious in nature. Believe it or not, "Here Comes the Bride" is a secular piece from the play "The Marriage of Figaro" - it is a song about the wedding night, not the actual marriage itself. This meant we couldn't use it, which was fine by me as it isn't one of my favorites anyway -lol. Instead we went with classical piece for our entry music - Handel's Water Music. Its a great piece of music for an entry and classical pieces are timeless. Good luck in choosing something and tell your friend CONGRATULATIONS on her upcoming wedding.

I would go with "Here and Now" by Luther Vandross... you can start the song at the 2nd or third turn of the chorus.
Also remeber if she chooses a song she likes, you dont have to start the song at the beginning or end completely at the end.
Another note is, when the bride and groom walk down the isle together you can pick the song up where it left off at. I have seen this done at weddings and it worked great. The song was one where it complimented their union and their new begining

I actually got a wedding cd from Target - it was created by "The Knot" (the bridal magazine), and had songs for the prelude, the bridal entrance, and so on. They were all beautiful, traditional pieces, and I found them to be perfect in length. That might be something to try. I paid 10.00 for the cd, but it was well worth it.

"The Gift" by Collin Raye (also done by Jim Brickman as a duet with Susan Ashton). It's only about 3 min long. Granted, you might have to get past the opening line ("Winter snow is falling down"), especially if your wedding is in July, but the rest of the lyrics are here:

"At the end of the year..." Is it a Christmas wedding? My niece was married at Christmas time, 2006, and walked down the aisle to "Christmas Canon" by Trans Siberian Orchestra. It was beautiful!

Trans- Siberian Orchestra has a gorgeous song called "Christmas Canon" on the CD Heavenly Christmas.
No, it is not a Christmas song, it is classical music.
Listen to it, it's gorgeous and perfect for walking down the isle.

Dear Julz,
Hey Julz, try this. Maybe all the songs she has requested are to long but this would take about 20 minutes. Mix all of their favorite slow songs together and make one nice song. I have heard this many times, it actually sounds pretty nice. Sorry if I was no help.
