is calling and she got out of the house a few days ago and only came home after 48 hours. Do you think she could be pregnant and how would i know if she is. I would not like the her to get done if she is pregnant, she is 2 years old. If she is pregnant do you think this is too young for her to have kittens. She was about to get done but did a runner so i had to cancel it, i really dont know what to do now. I love my cat dearly but dont want her to be at any risk if she is pregnant if she is too young.
Any help would be greatful, please dont be horrible.
Thank you.

I have got very good homes for eight kittens if my cat is pregnant plus i will be keeping one here with me. Im not cruel and have wanted my cat to have kittens as where i live its hard to get kittens and they dont give cats/kittens to army families. So i really dont need people being horrible to me and saying i NEED good homes and things like that, i have sorted it all out i was just wondering.

Chances are that she is pregnant.
You can still have her spayed in the early stages of pregnancy.
That may not be something you want to hear or would consider doing, but Vets do it all the time.

No, she's not to young to have kittens....cats can get pregnant when they go into heat the very first time around 5 or 6 months old.

A cat can get pregnant at 6 months old! If you really don't want her to have kittens, get her to the vet NOW to have her spayed. If she is pregnant now, the vet would probably do the op anyway, as it would be in the very early stages. The key thing is, get an appointment SOON. Leave it any longer, and if she is pregnant, you'll have to let her have them.

No, she's not too young to have kittens - they can have them from under a year old. If she's pregnant, you probably won't know until she starts to show but if you want the kittens, it doesn't matter! She will have them about 63 days after mating and then you can get her spayed after the kittens have been weaned (6 - 8 weeks).

Two years old and the first pregnancy? Not young at all...cats can become pregnant less than a year old on thier first heat. Why are you waiting so long to get her spayed? She should have been spayed long ago, unless you just got her. If she is pregnant and you don't want the kittens...get her spayed right away, this will cease and desist the pregnancy as well..even if she is not pregnant or you're not sure..just get her spayed anyway before it's too late..if she is pregnant and time goes by it will be too late and she will have to have the kittens before you can spay her..and of course the kittens weened first also which means you will need to wait a while. So just in case...get her spayed now. There's too many kittens out there needing to be adopted now to be adding more to the bunch and you having to find homes for them. Besides...after she has her kittens, and she has bonded with them, it's more cruel to take them away from her than it is to abort before she knows what's going on. If you think about it...you have a few kids and one by one they start to dissapear...don't think just because she is a cat she won't miss her kittens and start looking for them...she can't tell you but she will be frantic as each of her kittens dissapear. There's no excuse for not spaying any pet if you don't plan on having a zoo in your house, there are way too many spaying clinics that will do this either cheap or even free if you qualify. Check your local SPCA for a spaying clinic near you to have it done for a mere cost, and they'll give your cat shots while they're at it. Even trim her claws if you ask for a very small fee. It cost me a total of $65 each to have my two spayed, shots and claws trimmed. One of them was pregnant and two years old. I found her sleeping on my lawn furniture in my back yard..she was a feral stray and not human friendly until I gained her trust by feeding and talking to her...finally she let me take her to have her taken care of and now she's an inside cat, spayed, shots and nice and clean and fluffy. She never had to deal with the trauma of losing her kittens to wild animals or hawks flying off with them which happens way too much when kittens are outside like that..and she didn't have to feel the sadness of losing her kittens one by one as I would have given them away on her, not giving her an option which is unfair to her. So..since she didn't actually know her kittens yet, I had this taken care of as soon as she trusted me and she doesn't know any different...at least she hasn't told me! She and my other cat, who also was a stray kitten that I found out there about two months before her are best buddies and are inseperable now.

So...to wrap it all up...get your cat spayed whether she is or not pregnant..it will be the best thing for her health wise and mentally so she doesn't have to experience the sadness of losing her kittens.

Because you love your cat, it is very important to take her to the vet and ask his or her opinion. She needs to be spayed. You say she had only been gone for a few days. If she was in heat and she had an encounter with an intact male she may have become impregnate. But, it is very early and she could be spayed without harm. Plz get her to a vet asap. Allowing a female to have a litter puts her at risk for many diseases b4 and after she delivers and also brings more innocent lives into a world that has too many homeless and needy kitties. So, be kind and have her spayed.

I encourage you to do some research into the spay/neuter programs and why it is so important. Suggestions on sites: www.catsnortheast.org and check out the wealth of info on www.bestfriends.org.

Thank you for reaching out.

Cats can safely have kittens at less than a year old so she is not too young.

Why have you waited so long to get her spayed?

i have four cats and love them to bits, she isnt too young to have kittens so dont worry, my cats are house cats but they do get out now and again, i have had all my cats done but i did allow two of the to have kittens, the one was a year old at the time and she is now twelve, it did her no harm, after all there is no one to look out for them in the wild, so please stop worrying she will be fine and its really lovely when you see the little ones. good luck.xx

She's not too young to give birth but you may find it hard to get good homes for the kittens.

Warning - she can get pregnant again VERY quickly after giving birth. Much quicker than you'd expect. So be very careful.

At two years, she isn't too young. And only time will tell if she is. I think its takes about 62 to 65 days from conception to birth. So you wont have to wait long. Look at tummy, nipples and intake of food. If these get bigger your about to hear the piter pater of tiny feet.
