Antibiotics are medicines created using microbes or fungi that are weakened and taken into the body to destroy harmful bacteria. Bacteria causes infections and antibiotics destroy that bacteria to eliminate the infection(s). Not completing the course of your antibiotic prescription can eliminate the chance of destroying the infection. Therefore, if any bacteria remains, the infection can flare up again. To ensure the killing of the bacteria, it is best to complete the prescription.

Antihistamines are medications used to treat allergic reactions or allergies. Antihistamines are for temporary relief only. Taking them longer than 7 days is not advised. If the problem persists for more than 7 days, you should see your doctor.

Antibiotics are prescribed for some type of infection and should not be prescribed for a virus. They fight the bacteria in your body. You should complete the course of the medication to ensure that the infection is indeed gone. Antihistamines are prescribed for allergies, asthma, hayfever. usually respiratory, but can be prescribed for hives and other minor problems.
