correct plane or angel---- / slice plane or angel---- |
If you were standing in front of a golfer the lines above show the swing plane.
In order not to slice you must come down to the ball on the angel of the left hand or slanted lines. If you swing down like the straight lines you will cut across the ball and slice.
I hope this helps.

It you are a "chronic slicer" you should not be giving advice on how to fix something you still do. You have given the same information on other postings and it is WRONG. Take the time to learn about the situation. A slice does not just come from an open club face. As a golf professional I can tell you that I can hit a slice with closed club face and a draw with an open face. So please stop passing off only half information. And yes I am new to this forum but not to the game of golf.

If you are right handed a slice is generally caused by clockwise spin on the ball. That is caused by an open club face as the driver hits the ball.
Fixes?
Strengthen your grip
Swing inside out. More than likely your current swing is outside in
Do not use a driver but a 3 wood. Why? It imparts more backspin that will reduce the side spin that causes the slice.
If none of these things make sense then get a lesson that included video taping

There are 2 ways to approach this question - The Sam Snead way and the Ben Hogan way. Ben Hogan was always very scientific in his approach to the game- A slice can be corrected by changing one or more of several variables - grip, stance, swing plane, etc... Sam Snead had a more realistic approach - He said after hitting some balls on the range prior to your round if you find yourself slicing - aim further left (for you righties).
