God may not answer a certain prayer at all. Not everything we ask for is the best thing for us.
I separate God from religion. There is no where in the bible that says religion should be the middle man between you, the bible, and God. Here is the other side most religious individual don't understand; why should God do for you what you can do for yourself?

It depends on the will of God to answer your prayers. Nobody know the will of God. NO human being, I should say.

He answers right away, but the answer may not come to you the way you want it. It also may be hindered in its path. See Daniel. He waited for 3 weeks, and an angel told him about a battle he had to go through in order to deliver his answer.

Don't forget, sometimes the answer is NO. Expecting answers at your convenience is unreasonable.
