do u belive this is true girls and guys

I heard recently that what you find attractive in others is the similarity to yourself, appearance wise. You see yourself all the time and take comfort in what you see. When you come across someone who is somewhat like you, you are drawn to that person as it is familiar. This helps explains the notion that when we get older we tend to look like our partners

I heard somewhat of the opposite - you look for the things that you find lacking in yourself.

I suppose that means that if you are happy with certain parts of yourself, you'll find a partner who has those similar parts, but if you feel inadequate about other parts, you will find a partner who has both the parts you like about yourself and the parts you with you had.

Like, if you like your blond hair but you don't like being short, you might find a partner who has blond hair but is really tall.

appearance wise, i tend to 'settle' for whatever the person looks like.
i am not all 'hot' and stuff. so why should they be.... above everything else personality. i have dated a few, well let's just say ,average Joe's, but their smarts, and personality totally outweighed the looks.
and that meant far more to me....
i have a little extra weight on me now. and getting a few wrinkles and grey hairs, so if i choose to find me someone, then all i ask is that they are accepting of my flaws, because i am sure i would have to put up with my fair share.......just because guys are more vain than women.....FACT
so i guess in short, u do what feels good and what makes you happy....

i do not think so as there is a wide variety of couples out there these days.very tall with very short people/very heavy people with very thin people/mixed race couples so it is not alwaws true.i think people would be better off looking at what is in the heart and soul of a person than spending so much time worrying about appearences.

i've heared that before.
no, i dont believe it, because:
1- all the guyz i have ever been attracted to in my life, looks or personality, were almost exactly the opposite of me.
2- i hate myself in almost every way.
