Currently have a fiesta but it's too small. Can't afford to insure anything much bigger but need extra boot space. Perhaps up to a 1.6L engine - any suggestions please???

If you're happy with ford, go for the focus or fusion. The xsara picasso (citroen) has masses of boot space as well as loads of storage and tray tables - I really liked mine. If it's more seats you need, then something like a zaphira or mazda 5 (that's what I have now), or any of the 'optional' 7 seaters are good, without going into the space wagon leagues.

Good luck and safe driving.

I have just bought a Vauxhall Astra for £400. It is a GLS models so has all the whistles and bells, but being a 1.4 is cheap to insure.
Fuel economy is very good and the boot huge. Spares are cheap and repairs are straight forward. Ask a scrap car dealer what he thinks are good cars and they will say Peugeot or Vauxhall. Rovers are a no-no, the engines pop and the cost of repair exceeds the car's value.
Toyota Corolla or Nissan, or a Mazda are all excellent buys but can cost more to buy and service.
I think you would be pleasantly surprised at the Astra, plenty out there to buy so bargains like mine to be had. Good luck.

The Pacifica is a tremendous decision. no longer truly a Mini van, no longer truly SUV. I see a 2005 the following interior the paper for 12,000. For the cost, the marketplace is flooded with SUV commerce in's at present. you should also evaluate a deal on a Taurus /Sable Wagon. I had a 1996 sort with 3 row seating( folding Rear kiddy seats). no longer to significant or small, ordinary to rigidity all season. will be discovered any any vehicle lot. Plus Many Fleet customers of '06's( like Hertz) have traded all theirs in. The Taurus Wagon will do evrything the pricery Suv will at a lot less the than a million/2 the cost.
