I was at my uncles 50th birthday whom i am extremely fond of. I brought my husband because u know it was important for me that he was there..all he did was degrade everyone..listen to what he said about my family...he called my mother a witch..my sister looked terrible because she gained lotsa wieght and she hasnt shes a size 12...my other sister looks like a man..her gf looks like a dwarf....my cousin who is also on of my best friends is obsese and has gained an unreal amount of wieght...my cousins fiance is white thrash..my uncle is some fat dude from grand theft auto..my cousin male looks fat and bald...and the fuction place we were in looked like a pub from shameless he texted his friend..my husband is from a wealthy background i am not...i think he thinks he is better than my family because they are all plumbers and electrians etc what do i do about this? i mean he was almost shouting it when he said it? i cant have him talk about my family husband or not...what do i do?

Your husband sounds like a total LOSER. He is a jerk and HE needs to say he is sorry the EXACT SAME WAY he made these statements. I hope that NO ONE in your family heard what he said. BUT if they did assure them that your husband is a LOSER in the worst way and that he has no idea as to what he was saying as he is also recently diagnosed as being mentally challenged. I honestly really feel so sorry for you that you have to put up with such garbage (your husband) Good Luck, as you deserve better than him.

tinkerbells...i guess ur husband has this problem of bein superior than u guys!!!!!!!...It's like he married you knowing all those things before hand so there is no point making a scene about all those things. I guess You should talk to him calmly and ask the reason for such an eratic behaviour. He should not behave in such a manner as they are also a port of his extended family and he should respect them. If he is having so much of problem with them its better that he should keep himself away from your family.
This thing I guess can be talked out.It's all about compromise...a little bit on yourside and little from his side. I guess he is mature enough to understand.

Hello! Tinkerbel.
Sounds like you are married to prince charming.
Ususally when people put others down it is a sign of feeling threatened.
I would speak with him about it and ask him what it was about the birthday which made him feel so uncomfortable.
Sometimes people place themselves on pedestals and when they do not get the attention they think they deserve their noses are put out of joint.

To be honest with you I do believe that he is just jealous b/c he doesn't have a tight knit family like you do. Yes his family has money but yours does not and you guys are still very happy together. He just seems abit bitter about you being surrounded by all of hese people who love you when he doesn't have anyone. I mean sure he has his family but they probably don't act like 'family', you know what I mean?

wow what an ignorant rude person your husband must be, how dare he speak about your family in this way, you need to tell him clearly how hurtful those comments were and how they made you feel, and if he not suitably apologetic id be rethinking my whole relationship, acceptance and respect of you AND your family is an important part of any good marriage

Your husband is a snob. He thinks he is better than others if he has more money than they do. He's not going to change without therapy. If he won't go to therapy, leave him and find a better man.
