Let me tell you a story about a little girl, Sasaki Sadako.
In Japan, there is a legend that whoever folds 1000 Orizuru(Origami swans), that person would be granted one wish.
The story of Sadako.....
There was a 12 year old girl in Japan in the year 1955 who had leukemia. She was dying because of the radioactive effects of the atomic bomb dropped on Hiroshima.
While in the hospital, she heard about the legend of Orizuru so she began trying to fold 1000 of it, hoping not to die.
But.....when she saw the other children at the hospital dying like her, she knew she couldn't be saved.
And so, when she folded the 1000th orizuru, she wished....
"I wish for world peace, I wish the world would be a world where no children will have to die or suffer."
Do you think it's foolish for her to wish that....or maybe it is us who are foolish enough to allow this to happen?
