I don't. I love it. So as a muslim woman, I ask, why do you want to take away my freedom? I choose to wear a headscarf. I choose who I marry and I choose whether or not I even cook or clean as religion says. So why do you want to take away that freedom and force me to convert to a religion I don't agree with? Why do you think that by posting very rude and insulting questions that my mind will change? The only time that worked was the crusades, and that was because it was either agree or die. So, why do you want to take away my freedom to believe as I choose and dress as I choose?

I ask this question because so many want to ban our headscarves because they feel it "oppresses" us and that we need to be "saved". They don't bother to ask our opinion, they just assume things. So why do they want to take away that freedom to believe as we choose?

I believe you should be able to practice any religion you want and to wear whatever clothing you like, etc... I'm all for freedom my friend.

The people who do want to ban and discriminate against others do so because they are afraid of someone being different from them, looking different from them, dressing different than them, believing different than them. Their hate is a result of their fear.

I can never understand who some people think insulting or being rude and obnoxious is going to win converts to their religion. In fact, it does the opposite.

I don't want to take away your freedom... I have a Muslim friend who wears a headscarf, she lived in Germany (where I live) for some years and here she had many problems with the headscarf which she wears by her own choice due to her faith, so I know what you're talking about.

And obviously no one's faith will change due to the offensive questions here and I think the people who post them know that, but they just want to insult.

Blame the government. We're fighting a war against the innocent. I'm all for freedom, and I hope everyone can be free some day, but with the way the country is going at this point...

I'm completely against religion as a whole, but I don't mind other peoples' beliefs, except the Christians. Reason behind that is the conversions. I don't understand why the Christians want everyone to be like them... It's sickening to me.

I respect the Muslims especially, having to go through the Crusades and now this... You deserve a lot more than what you get, believe me...

Unfortunately there are too many people who don't know anything about Islam, but blame it in all the possible ways. There are too many aggressive Christians who are ready to repeat the Crusades, the Inquisition and Auto de fe. As it was told by Gandhi: "Your Christians are so unlike your Christ" They haven't ever opened Hadiths and they do not understand that Islam is absolutely non aggressive religion. After all they keep saying they are "peaceful". These are actually those moments when I'm absolutely not proud of being Christian myself. The lack of education make people do horrible things.

If you want the real answer to that question, try skimming through the bible and then go look at those who call themselves Christians and watch how they behave through objective eyes. Once you notice the hypocrisy, turn on your TV to any news channel and listen to how opinionated the reporters newscast is. Now remember these people are reading from cue cards written by other people. Who owns all of this... The real people in control of this nation of course. Now ask any average person you bump into about any opinion on any current event and you will hear a sad parrot-like attempt to repeat what he/she heard on TV that morning. This country is FAR from freedom but no one is in any kind of position to do anything about it. The point is, the people who give you grief about your customs no longer have any of thier own and you have every right to tell them that.

Jacques Chirac made it illegal in France to wear the hijab, so if you're French, then I can see your point and emphathize with you. However, if you're American, no one has made the hijab illegal in this country, so I don't understand your perception of anyone trying to force you to convert to any religion, or trying to prevent you from veiling. Veil as you want. Wear the hijab, niqab, or burkha, it's fine. No one will prevent this, that's why we have what's called religious freedom in this country.

Everyone should be free. I don't understand your religion but everyone is entitled to their own beliefs.

I believe in freedom of religion and freedom of no religion.

christians are like children. do not mind. it is their religion to be so childish. christians are not to be taken serious by principle. but i think that your vision of freedom, can be expanded, too.
