Let’s say you get psychotic episodes and you been to a mental hospital. What if one day you get a psychotic episode and attack a police officer. Would you still be charged for assault and battery since you attacked the cop… but you had/were having a “psychotic episode?”

Yes the charge would be the same but the sentence would most likely be different than if didnt have a psycotic episode, definitely a mental Institution rathr than prison if cleared mentally stable then rest of sentence most likely to be carried out in prison.

Stress and being tired (as well as many other things) can both cause psychotic events.. And since you were 'awoken', maybe it was part of your dream.. If you haven't had any others, then you are most likely fine.

You won't be having those episodes after that. Psychotic or not, you'll probably be killed. One of the most dangerous people I have to deal with are emotionally disturbed. You don't need a weapon for me to use deadly force. I ust have to be able to articulate why I used it.
